Spain takes the 2010 World Cup
A party that is sure to last until the next World Cup is underway around the world tonight. In a game that was as much brutal as it was beautiful saw Spanish forward Andres Iniesta emerge from under
the bodies of his jubilant teammates as the scorer of the
latest-ever World Cup winning goal. Into extra time deadlocked at nil each and after a total of 14 yellow cards were delivered, Iniesta put the seal on the 2010 World Cup with the late strike. The goal brought celebrations. Iniesta appeared from under
a mob of Spain players to reveal a T-shirt commemorating Daniel
Jarque, a former teammate who died of a heart attack last year. During the celebrations, Iniesta crumpled to his knees in tears as did many Danish supporters, as they wait another 4 years for a chance at World Cup glory.
